Memory Problems

Hey everyone! So I´m in a new area (again) with my new companion (again haha). I´m in Barrio Universitario which is in the zone of Concepción. Our sector includes the biggest universities of Concepción so a lot of young people, but the ward here is almost all old people hahaha. It´s a pretty big sector but we share it with 2 Elders from  the office. Our chapel is the oldest in Conce and pretty big, but not very many people come to church :( I´ve gotten to know a few members who are pretty cool and help us out a lot but we are going to need the help of ALL the members in this work! My new companion is Elder Lozano and he´s from Ecuador. We´ve been working hard to reach the President´s goal of 20 lessons with member, but it´s been pretty hard because I dont know that many people yet and Elder Lozano has some memory problems and cant help me very much. But no worries cause el Señor will provide a way!  It feels so good to be in the city close to everything. I live super close to the mission office so if anyone wants to send me stuff I´ll be able to get it super fast! Haha.

I hope everyone is doing great! Oh September 18th is independence day for Chile so this whole month is gonna pure parties! WOO! Te me cuidai!

Toda La Fuerza

Hey strangers! So it´s been awhile since I´ve written one of these things...sorry about that I´ve just been super lazy haha. Also because there hasn't much of anything going on in our sector as far as missionary work goes. Not gonna lie, Quillón is pretty dang mean to missionaries. But this week we had a Conference with zone Linares in Chillán with Presidente Cátala. The conference started at 9 AM and we got home at 8 PM haha. We were there for literally the whole day. But it was really awesome cause Presidente Cátala is a boss at teaching and blowing our minds haha. We also had classes from Hna. Cátala and the Asistentes. A new thing we are starting in our mission is #TODALAFUERZA. Basically what it is, is that we get members to come out with us and we take a selfie with them with a thing that says "#todalafuerza" and then they have to post the picture on their Facebook and they have to challenge 3 other people to go out with us. Then those people take selfies with us and they challenge 3 other people each. It´s like the "ice bucket challenge" (if you people remember that) but with missionary work! Brilliant right! This will motivate the members to come out with us and they can also "challenge" non-members to listen to the missionaries. The hash tag #TODALAFUERZA is already trending in Chile! Everyone at home or in other missions should totally use this too! (toda la fuerza in English is "all the strength" referring to the strength of the members in helping missionary work).
In other news, we went to a huge waterfall on Pday and is was siiiiiiiiick! Hopefully my dad with put all the fotos on my blog thingy.

Christmas But It Isn't!

Cambio week is always crazy and it can be pretty tough. So Elder Nef got transferred to Conce Centro and I'll be staying in Quillon. My new companion is Elder Lau and he is from Guatemala! He has about 7 months in the mission and Quillon will only be his 2nd sector. He is a super cool guy and we've already become awesome friends in just a few days. He's the only member in his family and the situation with his parents isn't very ideal. But yet he still had the faith to come on a mission. He was baptized about 3 years ago yet his testimony is super strong. He impresses me everyday how strong he is and he's a huge example to me. It makes me realize how much I've taken advantage of being a member all my life and having a close family. I truly am grateful for the gospel in my life and for my awesome family cause they are the best. I feel lucky to have a family like I do and hope to be able to help others be happy in their families for eternity. And I know that is possible through the covenants we make in the temple. What a blessing to be able to have that opportunity. I wouldn't give up that opportunity for anything. The Church is true!
Our week didn't go too well as far as lessons with investigators. It's like Christmas break here except it isn't Christmas. But everyone is on vacations and a ton of our appointments fell. It's safe to say that we walked around 100 miles this week. But that's alright cause if we don't get in any houses, at least we are getting good exercise.
I hope everyone has a great week!

A Ton of Success

This week week has by far been the best week in Quillón. We really worked our butts off and we were able to see a ton of success! On Tuesday I went on a mini cambio with Elder Bonzanino. He´s from Campinas, Brasil and he has about 5 weeks in the mission. So he still speaks Portañol (Portuguese and Español), but that gave me a chance to practice my Potuguese haha. It was good to get to know him a bit more and help him out.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday were solid days and we were able to teach a ton and really get closer to our investigators. And yes we has investigators! I´m really excited to work with the people we have and help them progress! Also, Friday was Canadian Independence Day! Woooo. Saturday was a special day because we had a conference to meet our new mission president, President Cátala. He´s from Argentina and his wife is from Taiwan. Crazy right? He´s a pretty cool guy and he is making a whole bunch of changes to the mission so we are going to be going a bit crazy these next couple weeks. But his Argentino accent is really strong and hilarious haha. Sunday was so great! 3 of our investigators; Fernando, Roberto, and Ezequiel all made it to church!!! Yeeeeeaaahhhh!!!! We were soooo happy to see them! We finished the week off strong and almost got all of our goal for the week! SO close! I´m supper pumped to get things done this week and really get all of our goals.
Lastly but obviously most importantly....HAPPY FREEDOM BURGERS LIBERTY ENGLISH JUSTICE DAY!!! Or in other words AMERICA!!! Happy birthday to the best country in the world! I hope everyone has a fantastic week!
