Gringolandia

Heeelllllloooooooooo people of gringolandia!! (country of gringos). It´s been a rough week as far as the missionary work here. We havent found too many people too teach and we´ve knocked about a million doors already but no worries! I know we´ll find someone. We´ve been challenged by the Area Presidency to bring at least 2 investigators to church every week in June and so we have to work hard this month to make that happen. I think we´ll bring 5 investigators every week and we´ll be good. The rain has let up a bit and it´s not as cold so I have nothing to complain about :) I hope everyone is doing great where ever you´re at! Also shout out to Gaby (my sis) who is finshing her mission! I'm Back Inside

So I have been transferred back "inside" the mission to Chiguayante! Leaving Linares was really hard because I really have come to love the people there. I will never forget my time there. But now it´s time to start again in Chiguayante in the ward La Pradera. My new companion is Elder Romero and he´s from Chile! Yay Chileanos! He´s pretty awesome and we get along supppper well! A little bit about my new area. It´s really cold. And it rains a lot. That´s pretty much describes it hahaha. But I love it. The members here are pretty cool even though the ward is a bit small, but we´ll fix that no problem! It literally rains sideways here so umbrellas are useless and I have gotten soaked more than a few time hahaha. We don't have too many investigators to work with right now but in a couple weeks we´ll have to construct another baptismal font in order to get everyone in the water! Woo!! My area is right next to the land where the new temple is going to be built, or rather where the temple is being built because it looks almost halfway done! You people should go look at pictures (ldschurchtemples.com) cause it´s awesome. I feel like I´m just arriving in the mission again because I haven't been able to see everyone I know because I´ve been so far away haha. It was great to see Elder Ovalle today (my old Comp) and some other missionaries for before. I hope everyone has the best week in the world!!

All About Claudia and Fernando

This week was all about Claudia and Fernando. I cant remember if I have talked about them or not. But they are married and have two kids and they have been investigating the church for about 5 years. We began to visit them a little more than a month ago and they have been our focus ever since. Fernando has always been ready to be baptized but he didn't want to get baptized without his wife and she has never accepted a date to be baptized by other missionaries. We have taught them so much we have become great friends. Hermana Claudia had problems with the Word of Wisdom and Tithing but we were able to help her understand both. Last week she finally accepted to be baptized the 9th of April. We knew we had to help them a lot this week so that they could get baptized on Saturday. So visited them almost everyday this week. On Thursday we had their baptismal interviews. When we got to their house Claudia told us that she thought that Saturday is too soon to be baptized. When I heard this my heart literally stopped beating for a good minute and I didn't know what to say. Finally Elder Chuctaya (Zone leader who was going to do the interview) said that they should do the interviews first and then we´ll talk about Saturday. So Fernando went first and while he was with Elder Chuctaya I went and sat next to Hermana Claudia and asked her what was up. She was just really nervous and she was worried that she would be obligated to do a lot of things for the church after was baptized. I explained to her that nothing is obligatory in the church and that "callings" come from our Heavenly Father and bless our lives. She was able to calm down a little after that and when Fernando finished his interview she went with Elder Chuctaya for hers. After talking to Fernando for a bit Hermana Claudia came back. They are ready to be baptized! WOOOO! I was soooooo happy for the both of them.

Saturday we had the baptism and I was super nervous haha but everything went smoothly and it was a good time :) Sunday they both received the gift of the Holy Ghost. I´m ridiculously happy for them and I cant wait to help others to be able to reach the point where Claudia and Fernando have gotten to.

Filled with Fallen Citas

Awesome Conference! So even though this week was filled with fallen citas, everythiung turned out well with conference. I´m so greatful so have the opportunity to listen to living prophets and apostles! If you werent able to watch all the sessions of conference DO IT! They are awesome and I know they will help you! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true! I Love it! Have a great week everyone!

References are the best!

So this cambio (or transfer) is 8 weeks instead of the regular 6 so we are only half way through haha. But that´s alright cause I love my sector! Linares is progressing very well and we have lots of people who are interested in being taught. I hope that we will be able to handle teaching all of them. One of the recent converts of the Hermanas invited 3 of his friends to church and they are being taught now. References are the best! Our zone brought 14 people with baptismal dates to church yesterday, and we only have 6 companionships in our zone! And next week our companionship should have 5 with baptismal dates! The work is going great here! I hope the same can be said in the whole mission and in the whole world! Share the gospel people! I hope everyone has a great week and a happy Easter!

He Spoke in Spanish

Como Estáis! Another week has passed and the mish is still rockin. This week we had an awesome class by Elder Tesch who is one of the married missionaries in Linares. We went an hour away to Parral for his class and he talked about who we are as children of God and as missionaries, and it was suuuuuper great! 3 Nephi 5:13 is a good one.

We did service at a member`s neighbor`s house. We had to store about 3 tons of wood for them. It was a loooooot of work haha. But they are super nice people and they are going to let us come back to teach them :) Service is awesome people, so do it! 

We had a multi-stake conference yesterday and it was a transmisión from Salt Lake.  Pres. Russell M. Nelson spoke and he spoke in Spanish! It was sooo cool! Hahaha I`ve gotten so used to hearing another person`s voice translating for the Apostles, so hearing his voice was pretty cool :)

Chilean Computers Dont Like Me

This past week was pretty good. We were able to find a couple new investigators and Silvana got baptised! Woooo! I`ll try to send some pics but Chilean computers don't like me very much.
